12 Funny Thanksgiving Would You Rather Questions for Kids

I included 12 Thanksgiving questions in the printable pack. They’re a mixture of silly situations, Thanksgiving food choices, and funny family moments.

Here are all the questions you’ll find on the cards!

1. Would You Rather Eat an Entire Pumpkin Pie or an Entire Apple Pie?

This one might be harder than it sounds!

Both are delicious Thanksgiving dessert options, but imagine having to eat the entire pie yourself.

Would you choose a classic pumpkin pie with whipped cream or a warm apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream?

I think I’d have to choose apple pie!

2. Would You Rather Wear a Turkey Costume or a Pilgrim Costume All Day?

Imagine showing up to Thanksgiving dinner wearing a giant turkey costume!

Would you rather walk around looking like a live turkey or spend the entire day wearing a pilgrim hat and pilgrim costume?

This would also make a funny question for a Thanksgiving school play.

3. Would You Rather Have a Pet Turkey or a Pet Pumpkin?

A pet turkey might be fun until it starts following you around the house making turkey gobble noises.

But what exactly would you do with a pet pumpkin?

Would you give it a name? Take it for walks? Decorate it for Thanksgiving?

Kids can get pretty creative with this one!

4. Would You Rather Eat Only Turkey or Only Mashed Potatoes for a Week?

I love Thanksgiving leftovers, but eating the same thing for an entire week might be a little much.

Would you rather have turkey for breakfast, lunch, and dinner or eat nothing but mashed potatoes?

And no, you can’t sneak in green beans or sweet potatoes!

5. Would You Rather Gobble Like a Turkey Every Time You Talk or Walk Like a Turkey All Day?

This might be my favorite silly question in the entire pack.

Imagine trying to have a serious conversation while making turkey gobble noises!

Or walking around with your arms tucked in like turkey wings.

You could even have the kids demonstrate their choices before answering.

6. Would You Rather Help Cook Thanksgiving Dinner or Do All the Dishes Afterward?

This one is especially funny when the adults join in.

Would you rather help cook the entire Thanksgiving meal or clean up every single dish afterward?

I think most Thanksgiving hosts would love to hear everyone’s answers!

And who knows? Maybe you’ll even find a few volunteers to help in the kitchen.

7. Would You Rather Watch the Thanksgiving Parade or Play a Thanksgiving Football Game?

Are you a parade person or a football person?

Would you rather watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, with its giant balloons and favorite cartoon characters, or head outside for a Thanksgiving football game?

You could even make the question harder by asking whether they’d rather watch an NFL football game or see the parade in person.

8. Would You Rather Eat Dry Turkey or Really Spicy Cranberry Sauce?

Neither sounds particularly appealing!

Would you rather eat a big plate of dry turkey with no gravy or a bowl of cranberry sauce that’s so spicy it makes your eyes water?

This one always makes me think about how much better Thanksgiving food tastes when everything turns out just right.

9. Would You Rather Go on a Hayride at Night or Get Lost in a Corn Maze?

Both sound like fun fall activities, although getting lost in a corn maze might be a little scary!

Would you rather enjoy a nighttime hayride or try to find your way out of a giant corn maze?

This is a great question to ask after a family trip to a pumpkin patch or fall festival.

10. Would You Rather Have Leftovers for Every Meal or Never Have Leftovers Again?

Some people love Thanksgiving leftovers even more than the actual Thanksgiving dinner.

Others are ready for something completely different the next day.

Would you rather eat leftovers for every meal or never enjoy them again?

That means no leftover turkey sandwiches, either!

11. Would You Rather Sit at the Kids’ Table or Next to Your Talkative Uncle?

This question is especially funny when the whole family is together.

Would you rather sit at the kids’ table with all the little ones or at the adult table next to an uncle who never stops talking?

I think some adults might actually choose the kids’ table!

12. Would You Rather Carve a Pumpkin Without Tools or Jump Into a Giant Pile of Leaves?

Imagine trying to carve a pumpkin without using any tools.

That could take forever!

Or would you rather jump into an enormous pile of crunchy fall leaves?

I know which one my kids would choose!

If your kids love pumpkins, don’t miss my free printable pumpkin coloring pages. They’re another easy way to keep little hands busy during the fall season!

I made two different versions of these Thanksgiving Would You Rather Questions so you can choose whichever works best for your family.

Both versions include the same 12 questions, and they’re designed to be printed, cut apart, and used right away.

Colorful Thanksgiving Would You Rather Cards

The colorful edition includes bright orange borders, Thanksgiving pictures, and cute fall decorations.

These cards are perfect for a Thanksgiving party, family game night, or keeping the kids entertained while you’re getting dinner ready.

Just print them, cut along the borders, and you’re ready to play!

Black-and-White Thanksgiving Would You Rather Cards

I also created a black-and-white edition for anyone who prefers something a little simpler.

This version is especially useful for teachers, homeschool families, and anyone who wants to save on colored ink.

Kids can even color the pictures before cutting out the cards.

How to Play Thanksgiving Would You Rather

One of my favorite things about this game is that you can make it as simple or as silly as you want.

Here’s how we like to play:

  1. Print your favorite version of the cards.

  2. Cut out all 12 Thanksgiving Would You Rather questions.

  3. Place the cards face down in a pile.

  4. Have one person choose a card and read the question aloud.

  5. Let everyone pick their answer.

  6. Ask a few people to explain why they made that choice.

That’s it!

There are no points to count and no winners or losers.

If you have a larger group, you can make things more interesting by having everyone move to opposite sides of the room depending on their answer.

For example, everyone who chooses pumpkin pie goes to one side, and everyone who chooses apple pie goes to the other.

It’s a fun way to get the entire group involved, especially if the kids have been sitting around for a while.

You can also let everyone take turns making up their own rather questions with a Thanksgiving twist.

Fun Ways to Use These Thanksgiving Questions

You don’t have to sit down for a formal game to enjoy these cards. There are plenty of ways to work a little Thanksgiving fun into your day.

At the Thanksgiving Table

Place a few cards at each seat before dinner.

While everyone is waiting for the Thanksgiving food to be served, have a family member read a question aloud.

It’s an easy way to start fun dinner conversations without putting anyone on the spot.

You could even let each person choose a question before sharing what they’re thankful for.

During a Classroom Thanksgiving Party

If you’re a teacher or helping with a school celebration, these cards make a perfect activity.

Print the black-and-white edition and let students color their cards first.

Then have them work in pairs or small groups to answer the questions.

For older kids, you can turn the activity into a creative writing exercise by having them explain their answers in a few sentences.

You can also pair this game with my free Mayflower coloring pages for Thanksgiving for another simple classroom activity.

As a Thanksgiving Dinner Icebreaker

Sometimes family gatherings bring together people who haven’t seen each other in a while.

These fun questions are a great way to get everyone talking.

Even the quietest person might have something to say when asked whether they’d rather own a turkey or have a pet pumpkin!

Throughout Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving fun doesn’t have to end when dinner is over.

And if you’re wondering what to make with all that leftover turkey, try my Thanksgiving leftover turkey cranberry sliders. They’re such an easy way to turn leftovers into another delicious meal!

Keep the cards nearby for the entire Thanksgiving weekend.

You can bring them out after a turkey trot, before Black Friday shopping, or while waiting for Thanksgiving dessert.

They’re also a great addition to a Thanksgiving scavenger hunt or family game night.

Make It a New Thanksgiving Tradition!

If you’re looking for a fun Thanksgiving activity that works for kids of different ages, I really think you’ll enjoy these cards.

Print them out, place them on the Thanksgiving table, or keep them ready for those moments when everyone needs a little entertainment.

Who knows? Playing Thanksgiving Would You Rather might even become a new Thanksgiving tradition in your family!

And don’t forget to grab both versions of the printable so you have a colorful set for playing and a black-and-white set for coloring.

Happy Thanksgiving!
