Free Mummy Template Printable – Halloween Craft for Kids
Looking for an easy mummy template printable for Halloween? This free printable mummy outline is perfect for simple Halloween crafts, coloring, classroom activities, and decorating.
I love having easy printables like this on hand during the spooky season because you don’t need to plan an elaborate activity. Just print the mummy, grab a few basic craft supplies, and let the kids get creative.
You can use this free printable mummy template in several different ways, too. Kids can color it, cover it with strips of paper, add googly eyes, or use it as part of their Halloween decorations.
It’s an easy Halloween craft that works especially well for preschool and elementary-age kids.

Free Printable Mummy Template
This simple mummy outline is designed to be used for all kinds of easy Halloween crafts and activities.
The template prints on a regular sheet of paper and gives kids a blank mummy shape they can decorate however they want. Cover it with paper strips to make mummy bandages, color it, add googly eyes, or use it for a Halloween classroom display.
For crafts that involve cutting and gluing, I recommend printing the template on white cardstock so it holds up a little better. Regular printer paper works perfectly if your kids simply want to color or decorate the mummy.

What You'll Need
You don’t need many supplies to turn this mummy outline into a fun Halloween activity. Most of these are things you probably already have at home.
Printed mummy template (below)
White printer paper or cardstock
Scissors
Glue stick
Construction paper
Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
Googly eyes, optional
Masking tape, optional
For younger children, you can cut out the mummy ahead of time. Older kids can practice their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination by cutting around the mummy themselves.
Easy Mummy Craft With Paper Strips
One of my favorite ways to use this mummy template printable is to cover the mummy with strips of white paper.
It’s incredibly simple but still gives kids plenty to do.
Step 1: Print the Mummy
Once you’ve downloaded the free mummy template at the bottom of this post, print it on regular printer paper or cardstock.
You can leave the mummy on the page or carefully cut around the mummy outline.
Step 2: Make the Mummy Wrappings
Cut white construction paper or regular printer paper into long, thin strips.
Don’t worry about making them perfectly even. Different-sized strips actually make the finished mummy look more fun.
For younger kids, you can prepare the strips ahead of time.
Step 3: Glue the Strips
Before adding the white paper strips, I like to color a few areas of the mummy black with a marker or crayon. You don’t need to color the entire mummy; just add some black underneath the areas where you’ll leave small gaps between the strips. This creates a little contrast and makes the white mummy bandages stand out more.
Next, use a glue stick to attach the white strips across the mummy’s body. Let the strips overlap and angle them in different directions to give your mummy that wrapped-up look.
Once the glue has dried, trim off any pieces hanging over the edges of the mummy.
Tip: Leave a black area around the eyes uncovered so the googly eyes really pop.
Step 4: Add the Mummy’s Eyes
Finish your mummy by adding two googly eyes.
If you don’t have googly eyes, kids can simply draw the mummy’s eyes with markers or colored pencils.
And that’s it! You have a super easy mummy craft that’s perfect for Halloween.

Masking Tape Mummy Craft
Another fun way to use the template is with strips of masking tape.
Print the mummy on black paper or cut the mummy shape out of black construction paper. Then let your child tear off small strips of masking tape and place them across the mummy.
The white tape against the black paper makes the mummy wrappings really stand out.
Add googly eyes when you’re finished.
This is a particularly good activity for little hands because tearing and placing the tape gives young children extra fine motor practice.
Turn It Into a Mummy Coloring Page
Don’t feel like getting out all the craft supplies?
Keep it simple!
The mummy can also be used as a Halloween coloring page.
Set out crayons, markers, or colored pencils and let kids design their own mummy.
They can add silly faces, colorful wrappings, spiders, pumpkins, bats, or even draw a haunted house in the background.
There are no rules.
I think giving kids a basic outline and letting them decide what happens next is sometimes much more fun than a craft where every child’s project has to look exactly the same.

Make a Halloween Mummy Decoration
Once your mummy is finished, you don’t have to stop at the craft!
Cut around the finished mummy and use it as an easy Halloween decoration. Kids can hang their mummies on bedroom doors, refrigerators, classroom walls, or bulletin boards.
If you’re doing this activity with several children, let everyone decorate their mummy differently and put them together to create a fun Halloween display.
You could even string several finished mummies onto ribbon or twine to make a simple Halloween banner.

More Ways to Use Your Mummy Template
There are so many different ways to use a simple mummy pattern beyond the crafts above. Kids can trace the mummy onto construction paper, use it as a stencil, add their own spooky background, or create an entire Halloween scene around it.

Halloween Mummy Craft for Different Ages
One of the best things about this free mummy template is that it can easily be adjusted for different ages.
For little kids, keep it simple. Let them color the mummy or glue pre-cut paper strips onto the template.
Preschoolers and kindergarteners can practice cutting strips of paper themselves before gluing them onto the mummy.
For older kids, provide the blank mummy outline and let them come up with their own design. They could add backgrounds, create spooky scenes, or turn several printable characters into cutout spooky creature decorations.
