Notes

Use store-bought pancake mix or homemade batter -
You can use homemade pancake batter or a boxed pancake mix. Just add cocoa powder and vanilla extract for the chocolate flavor.
Bunny shapes don’t have to be perfect -
Kids actually love the funny-looking bunnies. Make one round pancake for the head, two long oval pancakes for the ears, and two round pancakes for the feet. Even if the shapes aren’t exact, the decorations will make it look like a bunny.
Cook extra pancakes first -
If you're feeding several kids, cook a stack of pancakes ahead of time. Then assemble the bunny shapes onto the plates. This makes Easter morning much easier.
Let kids decorate their own pancakes -
Set out bowls with toppings like banana slices, strawberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, and whipped cream. Kids love creating their own bunny faces.
Use a squeeze bottle for better shapes -
If you want more control over the ear shapes, pour the pancake batter into a squeeze bottle. This helps you make small ovals or mini pancakes.
Make mini bunny pancakes for toddlers -
Smaller pancakes are easier for younger kids to decorate and eat.
Make-ahead option -
You can cook the pancakes the night before. Store them in the fridge and reheat them in a skillet or in the microwave in the morning before assembling the bunny faces.
Add extra fun toppings -
Optional toppings like chocolate mousse, yogurt, or peanut butter can make the pancakes even more fun for kids to decorate.
Serve immediately -
For the best texture and presentation, decorate the bunny pancakes right before serving.
